Several flaws that shouldn't be there in 2010
A few years ago this would have been an awesome camera. It takes nice pictures most of the time. It's small, battery life seems ok, and the color is pretty.
It's not particularly fast. Sometimes the pictures are out of focus. The picture quality seems pretty good at first, but is maybe a bit sterile.
The two dealbreakers: When you review pictures, the lens doesn't close, so if you pass it to someone they put fingerprints all over the lens. There is no dedicated movie button. If you want to switch to video, you have to flip through a menu.
Another annoyance is that the high megapixel eats up SD card and hard drive space.
I ended up returning this camera and going back to Casio. Casio understands that in 2010 people want to be able to easily take video and pass the camera around with their friends and just generally have a good time with it.
