A Must Have
I'm a newbie in the field of digital photography and had concerns that I was leaping too far with the purchase of a DSLR camera. The Nikon D3000 is without a doubt a pleasant transitional experience. The GUIDE mode makes it impossible to take a bad shot. The durability of the unit is far better than the plastic feel of the Cannon models (the other brand considered in my search for a step up from point-and-shoot).
The camera kit (from Cameta Camera) was the best savings out there. It came with all you needed plus things you realized you would have wanted to purchase a month later! They thought of everything when putting together this kit and the price can't be beat. The extra battery, card reader and second lens were a huge savings.
