Great little camera for outdoors and vacations
I love this camera.
I typically use a DSLR for photos, but lugging around a DSLR to places like the beach is difficult, especially when you have to worry about the elements (sand, water, etc.) as well as security (unless you don't like to go into the water). So I decided to go for a rugged point-and-shoot that was lightweight and waterproof, so that I wouldn't have to worry about it. I am sure glad I got this camera.
I originally was worried about the drop-off in picture quality between my DSLR and this camera, but in most situations I barely notice the difference. It took a little while to get used to all of the shooting modes, etc. but once I did, I found that my photos came out just as well as they do on my DSLR. Focusing is fast and the response time of the camera is quick. Additionaly, with the weatherproofing on the camera, I am able to take more unique pictures from exotic angles without fear of dropping the camera or exposing the camera to a hazardous situation. The results are awesome landscape beach and water / underwater photos and very good standard photos.
Overall, it is a good point-and-shoot camera that produces great outdoor pictures in many difficult settings.
